Success!

Thanks to everyone who came. We had over 80 people in attendance and sold almost all the artwork, with orders for more. It was everything we hoped for and more. Here are a couple shots of the show:

This is a decent view of the art show set-up. My partner is there. She’s the one with no shoes.

This shot does not do justice to the attendance. :))) It rocked. So fun with all these long-term friends of mine there! Plus some people I barely knew. We sold all but two of the watercolors and I have custom orders for about 6 more and about 10-15 cards. Thanks to everyone who came and to our family for helping us pull this off!

Rhythm at our art show. Lol. She was actually a happy camper there. This just makes a funny picture if life from a kid’s viewpoint.

Home Stretch Preparations

Rhythm and I are in the home stretch of preparations for our art show. Joann has purchased 40 sippee cups. You WILL be drinking your wine from a sippee cup.

This painting is morning glories by Rhythm and me. The flowers are all hers. Her part is done in poster paint.  She beats the paper so hard when she paints that a tiny screw fell out of one of my brushes!!

Hope we see you there!!

Wee Monsters

Here are some from the new Wee Monsters by Wee Monsters line. The first says “He’d scrimped all week to buy flowers for his “honey bunny”. He’d rehearsed his little speech about how their beauty paled next to hers. He stretched out his hand, placing the bouquet in her arms.”

“Oh! (Gasp) For me?”

“Then she are them. She was, after all,a bunny.”

This next one says:

“A perfect spring morning awaited him. The weather was poetic, the flowers, aesthetic. Birds sang in harmony on a par with The Grateful Dead on a straight day. Biff opened one eye and announced to himself and the world…

“coffee…now…”

Getting Ready For the Show

Getting ready for our Art Show at Lamp Light Studio on April 25! All the orange in the koi picture is Rhythm’s work. This is 22″ x 7.5″. These are part of a collection called Rhythm’s Fish. The one with the little blue fish is another style that’s part of the same collection. Rhythm did the navy blue fish in sample #2. They are untouched by me except adding eyeballs. Fish need eyeballs. Eyeballs rock.

On the one below, all the orange is hers, barely altered at all.

Conforming Fish

New “Conforming Fish” cards can include glitter to reeeeally doll up the nonconforming fish. Kind of how I see my friends. Sort of sparkly in a sea of bug-eyed conforming fish. You know who you are!

Announcing Our Art Show!

I am officially announcing our Gallery Show! I have a few cards to go to break 100 and we have scheduled the celebration and Art Show for 25 April! It’ll be from 3-8pm at the gallery in Lamplight Studio in Overland. You will get official invites. All drinks will be served in sippee cups, refreshments will include peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and you can start pre-ordering paintings now. In particular you can order what Chinese character you want on your bamboo painting and I can make it for you ahead of time. I will also be painting in the Chinese characters at the show so don’t forget Mother’ Day is coming up. “Very rovery gift for rady who raise you.” Good for Father’s Day too.  We’re pretty excited, to say the least! Joann is coming from Omaha to help hostess so we know it will be lovely. We look forward to seeing everyone there!!!

Art Crime

Omg. I’m having a major breakthrough on writing graffiti. I’m thinking of going into real “art crime” and spraying stuff like, ” I love my granddizzle. Signed, Grandmizzle” on buildings in 63104. I feel like I’m really cool right now.
